Chesapeake Bay Skipjack Half Hull
This is a 1/4"=1' scale half model of the Chesapeake Bay Skipjack, Maryland's official state boat. Once numbering in the thousands, these beautiful workboats have all but disapeared from the Chesapeake Bay area. With the decline of the oysterbeds and the advent of the gasoline engine, the practicality of the boats has declined. It is estimated there are only 40 remaining today.
